2017 Arkansas Preseason Softball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Bentonville
2016 record: 31-1
Head coach: Kent Early

The Tigers claimed the Arkansas Class 7A state title last year and finished as the No. 22 team in the Xcellent 25 National Softball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. Good luck hitting off ace Madison Prough after she posted a perfect 19-0 record with a wowing 0.68 ERA.

2. Bald Knob

2016 record: 36-0
Head coach: Todd Finley

The Bulldogs captured an Arkansas Class 3A state championship and completed the season as the No. 8 team in the Xcellent 25. Sensational sophomore Madi Pierce will head the attack after batting .422 with 36 RBIs.

3. Vilonia

2016 record: 27-7
Head coach: Kevin Sullivan

The Eagles nabbed the Arkansas Class 5A title last season. Vilonia graduated 10 seniors but should reload with a strong nucleus of young talent.

4. Rose Bud
2016 record: 27-8
Head coach: Scott Starkey

The Ramblers racked up 27 wins and reached the Arkansas Class 3A state title game last season. Rose Bud returns a ton of power after sluggers Joley Mitchell and Lauryn Swaffar combined for 16 homers and 71 RBIs.

5. Cabot
2016 record: 23-4
Head coach: Chris Cope

Cabot logged 23 wins last year and was upset in the first round of the Arkansas Class 7A playoffs. Hannah Montgomery will lead the charge after tallying 38 RBIs and five homers.
