Soldotna has gone 7-1 against Grace Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Stars will take on the Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Friday just wasn't the day for Soldotna's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eagle River on Friday. The Stars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jett Brophty was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Soldotna saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Blough, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Grace Christian fell victim to Palmer and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Moose, falling 22-0. The Grizzlies just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Grace Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Soldotna, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-2.

Soldotna took their victory against Grace Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
