Volleyball Recap: Rich Township Extends Winning Streak to Four

Rich Township came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bloom Blazing Trojan. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in April.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Rich Township got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-23.

Phillip Watkins was the offensive standout of the match as he had ten digs.

Rich Township couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 45.3% of their attack attempts. That's the best hitting percentage they've posted all season.

Rich Township's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-13. As for Bloom, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Rich Township will face off against Homewood-Flossmoor at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bloom, they will square off against Thornridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blazing Trojan are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
