Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carolina International). They blew past the Valor Preparatory Academy Owls 91-47 on Friday. The Comets have beaten the Owls the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Owls has come to flipping the script.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carolina International to victory, but perhaps none more so than KJ Shouse Jr., who went 8-for-11 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. Shouse Jr.'s evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Landon Griffin was another key player, going 10-for-13 en route to 22 points.

Carolina International was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Carolina International's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-18.

Carolina International does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will head out to take on Jackson Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson Day knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Valor Preparatory Academy likes a good challenge.
