Basketball Recap: Duncanville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Skyline

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Duncanville). They breezed by the Skyline Raiders to the tune of 85-22 on Tuesday. Given the Panthers and Pantherettes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Raiders are ranked 793rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Duncanville found their leader in sophomore Samari Holmen, who went 9 of 10 on her way to 22 points in addition to six assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Gipson, who posted 15 points and five assists.

Duncanville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Duncanville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Skyline, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Duncanville will host DeSoto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. DeSoto has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three matches. As for Skyline, they will head out to take on Lancaster at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lancaster is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63 points per game this season.
