Newsome and Alonso are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Wolves will face off against the Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Newsome's defense has only allowed 12.9 points per game this season, so Alonso's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Newsome heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Tuesday. They lost 25-0 to Bloomingdale. The shutout was out of character for the Wolves seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Meanwhile, Alonso faced Steinbrenner in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Ravens didn't even let the Warriors on the board, marking the Ravens' second-straight 27-0 shutout. The Ravens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by 25 points or more this season.

Newsome better keep an eye on Gabby Werr. She was instrumental in Alonso's win, throwing for 221 yards and three TDs.

Alonso didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jewels Gambino and Mia Garcia.

Alonso has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.7 points over those games. As for Newsome, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-6.

Newsome was dealt a bruising 33-6 loss at the hands of Alonso in their previous meeting on April 1st. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Werr, who threw for 206 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.1% of her passes. Now that the Wolves know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
