Softball Recap: Anderson's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Anderson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Edsel Ford Thunderbirds with a sharp 17-2 win. With that victory, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Ella Doddie made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Doddie was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Alaina Phillips was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Audrie Englehart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Anderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Anderson's record is now 9-5. As for Edsel Ford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Anderson is set to square off against their familiar foe Lincoln Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Edsel Ford will challenge rival Roosevelt at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
