Volleyball Game Preview: Cicero Prep Academy Centurions vs. Gilbert Christian Knights

After both having extra time off, the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions and the Gilbert Christian Knights will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Cicero Prep Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Scottsdale Christian Academy and fell 3-2. While the Centurions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-15 in the first set.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Cicero Prep Academy lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 15-25, 30-28, 14-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Gilbert Christian waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Titans.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Gilbert Christian took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-10, 25-11.

Gilbert Christian pushed their record up to 15-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Cicero Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
