Basketball Recap: Stephens County Takes a Loss

Stephens County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 79-49 loss at the hands of the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes. The Indians were probably out for revenge after losing 46-26 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Stephens County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Monroe Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season.

Stephens County and Commerce will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Monroe Area, they will take on North Gwinnett at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
