Basketball Recap: Matthew Slosar's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain View over Riverside

Mountain View lost against Riverside back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mountain View Lobos fell just short of the Riverside Rangers by a score of 50-48.

Mountain View's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Slosar, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points and seven steals. Mountain View is 5-2 when Slosar posts five or more steals, but 7-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Gonzalez, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

It was another big night for Marcus Jauregui, who earned 13 points for Riverside. Another player making a difference was Adrian Rascon, who had ten points.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Riverside, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-33 defeat against Ysleta on the 7th. As for Riverside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-43 victory against San Elizario on the 7th.
