Baseball Preview: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. Citrus Hurricanes        
        
		
            The Weeki Wachee Hornets will face off against the Citrus Hurricanes at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Weeki Wachee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1  runs per game  this season, so Citrus' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Citrus will be up against a hot Weeki Wachee  team: the  squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Hornets blew past Crystal River 11-1 on Friday.

 Jack Strong made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news, Weeki Wachee got a big performance out of  Jacob Barnum, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Derek Giordano, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Weeki Wachee  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  OBP total in three consecutive  contests.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Citrus' offense. They fell just short of Central by a score of  2-0 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat the Hurricanes have suffered  since March 11th.
 Citrus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Weston Brannen, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases. The Hurricanes are 2-1 when  Brannen posts two or  more  stolen bases, but 7-12 otherwise.
 Citrus' loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Weeki Wachee, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
 Weeki Wachee skirted past Citrus  5-3 when the teams last played  back in March. Do  the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
