Softball Recap: Winthrop's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Winthrop lost against Saugus back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vikings fell just short of the Sachems by a score of 6-5. The loss put an end to the Vikings' undefeated start to the season.

Francesca Indrisano was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Winthrop fell to 2-1. As for Saugus, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Winthrop will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Hamilton-Wenham Regional at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Saugus, they will head out to take on Waltham at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
