Football Recap: Pleasant Plains Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Alexander Smith and Grady Grisham

Pleasant Plains lost against Athens back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cardinals took a hard 33-19 fall against the Warriors. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pleasant Plains' loss came despite strong showings from Grady Grisham and Alexander Smith. Grisham picked up 190 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Smith threw for 283 yards and two TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Grisham was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 68 yards.

Gage Honn went supernova For Athens., rushing for 233 yards and three scores. Those 233 rushing yards gave Honn a new career-high. James Jones was another key player, picking up 57 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pleasant Plains now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Athens, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
