Basketball Recap: Madill Wildcats vs. Riverside Indian Braves

After a string of 11 wins, the Madill Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Riverside Indian by a score of 48-45. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Madill came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Braves are ranked 67th).

Despite the defeat, Madill had strong showings from Ethan Wilkerson, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks, and Brylan James, who scored 16 points along with five assists. That was a full 44.4% of Madill's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jd Runyan was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.

Madill's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-2. As for Riverside Indian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
