Basketball Game Preview: Simpson Academy Cougars vs. Starkville Academy Volunteers

The Simpson Academy Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Starkville Academy Volunteers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Simpson Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Simpson Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Rankin Academy 85-29. The Cougars pushed the score to 70-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots had no chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Starkville Academy came up short against Leake Academy on Friday and fell 61-54. The loss continues a trend for the Volunteers in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost three in a row.

Simpson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Starkville Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
