Basketball Recap: Antelope's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Antelope waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 53-42 win over the Mayer Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly 11 points.

Antelope's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abraham Moreno, who posted 20 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Those seven steals gave Moreno a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trane Figueroa, who had seven points in addition to five boards and five steals.

The win got Antelope back to even at 4-4. As for Mayer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antelope will take on San Pasqual Valley in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mayer, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mogollon at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
