Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Munster's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Munster won the last time they faced Calumet New Tech and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Munster Mustangs took down the Calumet New Tech Warriors 66-48. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Warriors are ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eric Allen, who posted 11 points and three steals. Allen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lawrence Wesby, who put up nine points and seven boards.

Munster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points over those games. As for Calumet New Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.

Looking ahead, Munster will face off against Gary West Side at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Gary West Side's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches. As for Calumet New Tech, they will square off against Hammond Morton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
