Softball Recap: Ruston Takes a Loss

Ruston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-3 to the Neville Tigers. The Bearcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Ruston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Stoehr, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Aubree Lohman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ruston's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Neville, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Ruston Bearcats duke it out with Ouachita Parish Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ouachita Parish is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Neville, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pineville at 5:30 p.m. Pineville also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 9 runs per game.
