Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeside). They never let the Riverside Rams get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Saturday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Jonah Starr made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Mason Thomas was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Lakeside is undefeated when Thomas posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Kannon Almond was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.

Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lakeside's record now sits at 5-7. As for Riverside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lakeside beat Riverside by a score of 14-2 later that day.
