Softball Game Preview: Doyline Panthers vs. Captain Shreve Gators

For the second straight game, Doyline will face off against Captain Shreve. The Panthers will host the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Doyline has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Doyline is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Captain Shreve just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Gators, falling 20-5.

Doyline saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Stanley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory (which was Captain Shreve's third in a row) raised their record to 18-13. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Doyline, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
