Basketball Recap: Yorkville Christian Takes a Loss

Yorkville Christian lost against Neuqua Valley back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Yorkville Christian Mustangs had to suffer through a 94-64 loss at the hands of the Neuqua Valley Wildcats. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Yorkville Christian lost, don't look at Jayden Riley. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 17 en route to 22 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. The matchup was Riley's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zach Marini, who posted 17 points.

Yorkville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Neuqua Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Yorkville Christian will square off against East Dubuque at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Dubuque will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Yorkville Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Neuqua Valley, they will take on Waubonsie Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waubonsie Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Neuqua Valley likes a good challenge.
