The Saint Andrew's Scots will take on the NSU University Sharks in a tournament on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Saint Andrew's will bounce into Friday's match after beating Benjamin, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Scots blew past the Buccaneers 11-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scots.

Saint Andrew's got a great performance from Emery Coleman as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Coleman has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Luccas Mendez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Connor Berman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Saint Andrew's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benjamin only posted an OBP of .238.
Meanwhile, NSU University had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 13-3 win.
The team relied heavily on Bradyn Potter, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Isaac Rosa also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
NSU University's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Saint Andrew's, their record now sits at 14-4.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Saint Andrew's has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like NSU University struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Saint Andrew's suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to NSU University in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Scots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
