Softball Recap: Shakamak Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Shakamak was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They lost 7-1 to the Northview Knights. The game marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Brylee Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

Shakamak has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Northview, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Shakamak didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against Terre Haute North Vigo on the 18th. As for Northview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-6 victory against South Vermillion on the 18th.
