Softball Recap: Blake Bears vs. Roosevelt Teddies
Blake had lost nine straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-14 to make it ten. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roosevelt Teddies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 13-12 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Livvy Vandersall made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Roosevelt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.
On Roosevelt's side, Ilsa Kaley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave Kaley a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ella Lysne was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lillian Bodkin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Blake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roosevelt, they will face off against Humboldt/Open World Learning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
