Recap: Rock Point Cougars vs. Basis Yeti
It was a good run, but the Rock Point Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 90-77 to Basis. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jack Engelthaler was his usual excellent self, shooting 8-for-13 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 40 points and 20 rebounds for Basis. Engelthaler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowdy McGourin, who scored 22 points along with two steals.
Rock Point's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8. As for Basis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Rock Point will look to defend their home court on Monday against Grand Canyon at 6:00 p.m. Basis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
