Basketball Recap: Catoctin Comes Up Short

Catoctin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 92-27 loss at the hands of the North Hagerstown Hubs. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-13.

Landon Somerville was a one-man wrecking crew for North Hagerstown as he went 7 of 10 en route to 17 points along with six assists and six steals. The dominant performance gave Somerville a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Dorsey, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 17 points.

Catoctin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Hagerstown, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Catoctin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-50 loss against Smithsburg on the 17th. As for North Hagerstown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-27 victory against South Hagerstown on the 17th.
