Basketball Game Preview: Albemarle Bulldogs vs. North Stanly Comets

Albemarle hasn't had much luck against North Stanly recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Albemarle Bulldogs will welcome the North Stanly Comets at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Albemarle took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Gray Stone Day with points to spare, taking the game 55-37.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for North Stanly against Gray Stone Day on Monday as the squad secured a 76-41 victory. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Knights are ranked 647th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Albemarle's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-19. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points over those games. As for North Stanly, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.
