Basketball Recap: West Takes a Loss

West saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to the Belton Tigers.

Emma Flory was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high. Lily Trujillo was another key player, putting up nine points.

West's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Belton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West will face off against Clifton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Belton, they will take on Lake Belton at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Belton is facing Lake Belton at the right time seeing as Lake Belton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
