Volleyball Recap: Seacrest Country Day Stingrays vs. Neumann Celtics
Seacrest Country Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Neumann Celtics. The Stingrays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Celtics apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Neumann scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 17-25, 25-20.
Sophia Baron paced Seacrest Country Day's offense, picking up 13 kills. Baron got some help from Alexa Hicks and her 30 assists. Kendall Creech controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Neumann's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Priscilla Class led the charge by getting ten digs and one assist. That's the most digs Class has posted over her last nine matchups. Josie Magnuson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
