After flying high against Braxton County last Friday, East Fairmont came back down to earth. The East Fairmont Bees were dealt a 48-20 defeat at the hands of the Preston Knights on Thursday. The Bees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Preston's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody Smith, who picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Smith was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 59 yards. Another player making a difference was Shelden Miller, who gained 106 total yards and two touchdowns.
East Fairmont now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Preston, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
