Baseball Recap: Logan Babore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Spring-Ford over Phoenixville

Spring-Ford lost against Phoenixville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-3 to the Phantoms, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered against the Phantoms since May 16, 2019.

Spring-Ford had to settle for second despite strong performances on the mound from Andrew Wible and Dom Ruggiero Wible pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits, while Ruggiero tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ruggiero has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Spring-Ford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Babore, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Cooper Nelson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Spring-Ford and nudges their season record down to 3-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Phoenixville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
