Volleyball Recap: Kirkwood Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Kirkwood came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins dating back to last season, and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Calloway County Lakers by a score of 2-0.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22.

Kirkwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jada Taylor out in front who had 16 assists and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Taylor a new career-high in kills (three). Alana Miller was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

Kirkwood's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Calloway County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Kirkwood has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Owensboro Catholic on the 23rd. As for Calloway County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against University Heights on the 23rd.
