Softball Recap: Sparkman Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Sparkman's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Hoover Buccaneers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 back in February.

Laila Watkins was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Carly White was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Sparkman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive contests.

Sparkman moved to 32-12-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparkman will face off against Madison County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Senators surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hoover, they will take on Hazel Green at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
