Volleyball Recap: Licking Valley Comes Up Short

If Licking Valley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Zanesville on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Tri-Valley Scotties on Monday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Scotties recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-11, 25-14.

Alexa Gilliam paced Licking Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Gilliam got some help from Sami Whitehair and her six assists. Ella Paul controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Licking Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Tri-Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Licking Valley will take on Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri-Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Philo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
