St. Peter has gone a perfect 10-0 against Moore Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will host the Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

St. Peter's is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Iona Prep just ended the team's 13-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Gaels. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Moore Catholic came up short against St. Francis Prep on Wednesday and fell 5-2. The Mavericks have struggled against the Terriers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Moore Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for St. Peter's, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 14-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Peter's has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Moore Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

St. Peter's came out on top in a nail-biter against Moore Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
