Basketball Recap: Eastlake Extends Home Winning Streak to 14

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eastwood, Eastlake was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Socorro Bulldogs 66-27. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their 30-point performance the matchup before.

Eastlake found their leader in sophomore Tristan Anderson-Edmond, who went 9 for 12 en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeden Quigley, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Eastlake was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Socorro only posted six assists.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaias Morales, who scored nine points. Adrian Sandoval also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Eastlake's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Socorro, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.

Coincidentally, Eastlake and Socorro will both be playing Franklin the next time they take the court. Socorro will host Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Eastlake will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
