Baseball Game Preview: Loyola Academy Ramblers vs. Niles Notre Dame Dons

The Loyola Academy Ramblers are taking a road trip to face off against the Niles Notre Dame Dons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Loyola Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lane Tech on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Meanwhile, Niles Notre Dame was able to grind out a solid win over Maine West on Friday, taking the game 7-3. The Dons haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Corey Cisneroz looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Cisneroz, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Tony Szwedo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Loyola Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Niles Notre Dame, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.
