Volleyball Game Preview: Fleming Island Golden Eagles vs. Middleburg Broncos

The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will take on the Middleburg Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fleming Island comes in on three and Middleburg on four.

Fleming Island is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Ridgeview with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Alana Santiago and Maddie Culbreth were among the main playmakers for Fleming Island as the former had 11 assists and three aces and the latter had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Santiago has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Fleming Island was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Middleburg got the win against Clay on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Middleburg's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Fleming Island, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.

Fleming Island might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Middleburg in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
