Basketball Recap: Coventry Comes Up Short

Coventry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 55-40 to the Tiverton Tigers. The Oakers were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Tiverton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Del Deo, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Those 18 points gave Del Deo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jah'Niece Branch, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Tiverton, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coventry will head out to take on Smithfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tiverton, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers duke it out with the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
