Basketball Recap: Benbrook Comes Up Short

Benbrook and Bridgeport squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Benbrook had to settle for second. They were dealt a 90-21 loss at the hands of the Bridgeport Bulls. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1179th, while the Bulls are ranked 92nd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bridgeport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Case, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Case a new career-high. Gracie Rodriguez was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Benbrook now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Bridgeport, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 30-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Benbrook nor Bridgeport have any future games scheduled.
