Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Hillcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carl Junction Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 66-56 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Carl Junction, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Coming up, Hillcrest will look to defend their home court on Friday against Marshfield at 7:15 p.m. As for Carl Junction, they will venture away from home to square off against Bolivar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bolivar will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Carl Junction surely won't give up without a fight.
