After a string of 11 wins, Los Lunas's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to the Albuquerque Bulldogs at home by a 49-33 margin. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 41-37 to them when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Albuquerque's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zaiyah Hawley, who posted 12 points and three steals. Hawley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliyah Lee, who had eight points and five boards.

Los Lunas' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 17-4. As for Albuquerque, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Rio Grande the next time they take the court. Albuquerque will host Rio Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Los Lunas will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th.
