Softball Recap: Pittsfield Saukees vs. North Greene Spartans

Pittsfield had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the North Greene Spartans 16-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saukees also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Emma Henry made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Henry was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Kinlee Griggs and Grace Henry did most of the damage at the plate: Griggs went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Grace went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that Griggs brought in this season. Lila Simon was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
