 Monticello lost against Duchesne on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Monticello Buckaroo fell victim to a  tough 18-1 defeat at the hands of the Duchesne Eagles. Monticello has struggled against Duchesne recently, as their  matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
 For Duchesne's part,  Kira Grant made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned run off   two  hits (and only one walk). Grant has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. Grant was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jaelee Farnsworth, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played.  Claire Anderton was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Duchesne, their win was  their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 9-2.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monticello will  face off against Piute at 2:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Duchesne, they will head out on the road to  square off against  San Juan at 2:00  p.m.  on Friday. One thing working in Duchesne's favor is that they have posted big  run totals  in their last three contests.
