Basketball Game Preview: Oak Park-River Forest Huskies vs. Downers Grove North Trojans

The Oak Park-River Forest Huskies will head out to challenge the Downers Grove North Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Oak Park-River Forest ended up a good deal behind Hinsdale Central and lost 59-45. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Red Devils are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Downers Grove North). They took down Proviso West 70-52 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Downers Grove North's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Oak Park-River Forest ended up a good deal behind Downers Grove North in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, losing 48-31. Can Oak Park-River Forest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
