Alex Williams commands the offense for Thunder win

Recap: Lamar Thunder vs. Buena Vista Demons

The Lamar Thunder entered their tilt with the Buena Vista Demons with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Lamar walked away with a 57-48 win over Buena Vista on Saturday. This was payback for Lamar, who suffered a 58-57 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lamar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Williams out in front who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Deyago Vasquez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Buena Vista's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaden Schell, who scored 17 points along with five steals, and Julian Lopez-Olsen who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Schell hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Wingo, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.

Lamar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Buena Vista, they dropped their record down to 9-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Manitou Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Buena Vista, they will be playing at home against Colorado Springs Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colorado Springs Christian is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
