Basketball Recap: Southaven Beats Lewisburg for Their Third Straight Win

Southaven hadn't done well against Lewisburg recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Southaven Chargers took down the Lewisburg Patriots 68-51. The win was nothing new for the Chargers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Southaven got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cael Jones out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. That's the most boards Jones has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Johnson, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds.

Southaven's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Lewisburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Southaven will face off against Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southaven is facing Hernando at the right time seeing as Hernando is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Lewisburg, they will take on Oxford at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
