Research Triangle was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the East Wake Academy Eagles 2-1. Research Triangle's winning goal came courtesy of Matias Camacho.

Research Triangle has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-3 record this season. As for East Wake Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Research Triangle is set to challenge their familiar foe Neuse Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, East Wake Academy will square off against rival Raleigh Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
