Basketball Recap: Maple Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Maple Valley had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Comstock Colts 46-24 on Wednesday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-9.

Ines Sanchez Feito had a dynamite game for Maple Valley, going 8 for 16 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Sanchez Feito is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least seven every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Morawski, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Maple Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Maple Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Comstock, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Maple Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 75-27 loss against Concord on the 13th. As for Comstock, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-33 defeat against Bloomingdale on the 13th.
