Basketball Game Preview: Lake Marion Gators vs. Calhoun County Saints

Having just played yesterday, the Lake Marion Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Calhoun County Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Calhoun County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Marion, who comes in off a win.

Lake Marion took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Timberland by a score of 50-38. While the Gators didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Mason Miles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Smith, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Calhoun County ended up a good deal behind Marion last Friday and lost 59-43. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calhoun County now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Lake Marion, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Lake Marion took their win against Calhoun County when the teams last played last Thursday by a conclusive 84-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Marion since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
